Ever wonder how many app downloads it takes to get to the top of iOS charts?
Application-research firm Distimo just released several statistics showing how many daily downloads an app needs to log to get to the top.
Distimo also released information about the days on which people download more apps. Looking at the 300 most-popular free applications, they aggregated data on which days they were downloaded most frequently. On the whole, people tend to download more apps on weekends (16 percent Saturday and 17 percent Sunday). Meanwhile in the week, the proportions range from 13 to 14 percent. Therefore, to get into the top-app charts, you can get fewer downloads during weekdays, so long as you pick it up on weekends.
