YouTube is the largest video viewing community online, yet surprisingly after all this time brands have had few ways of customizing their YouTube Channels.
Buddy Media, an online marketing firm that represents 600 of the world’s top brands, plans to change that with its new customized YouTube Channels.
The product, called ProfileBuddy, gives brands and agencies a full-scale social marketing solution on YouTube Brand Channels.
Update: Buddy Media’s offering is not the first to do this. Thismoment, a rival online marketing firm, offers similar tools, like customizeable theaters for viewing YouTube videos and engagement tools, like contests, mobile optimization, countdown clocks and more. Thismoment has been customizing and marketing channels since December of 2011, and has handled big media–most recently The Hunger Games.
As it has been until now, YouTube lets brands establish a presence on their site, only with uniform channel pages. Firms like Buddy Media are stepping in with branded, customized video players, HTML coding capabilites, photo galleries, polling, quizzing and voting capabilities, and product galleries. Buddy Media will also let people get RSS feeds for brand YouTube pages and more.
