The Kayakers who were trying to navigate Canada’s frigid Labrador Coast have aborted their mission, according to a new dispatch from Explorersweb.
Noah Nochasak, Lev Tarasov and Rod MacKinnon pulled the plug on their mission sometime over the weekend because strong winds kept blowing the kayaks apart from one another.
That the kayaks kept getting separated was apparently a serious issue because the supplies were spread among the three paddlers, and in such extreme conditions all supplies were necessary when they trio docked.
Exweb has been in contact with Jerry Kobalenko, the main point of contact between the expedition and the outside world. You can read his comments on their situation on Exweb here.
