The Nose Female Speed Record Broken, El Capitan

I’m starting to feel sorry for The Nose, what with all the times it’s already been broken this climbing season.

Joking aside, Quinn Brett and Jes Meiris broke the women’s speed record for climbing El Capitan’s Nose route on June 11, according to a new report from Climbing.

The duo summited The Nose in an impressive 10 hours and 19 minutes, shaving nearly 20 minutes off the previous female record: 10 hours and 40 minutes, set by Libby Sauter and Chantal Astorga.

This is the second time a speed record has been set on The Nose, and the third time a record has been set on El Cap, in the month of June.

First, we heard about Alex Honnold and Hans Florine breaking The Nose speed record on June 17. Then we heard about Craig DeMartino, Pete Davis, and Jarem Frye being the first all-disabled team to summit El Capitan.
