Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series Goes to Ireland

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series goes to Ireland today, where divers will be leaping off massive cliffs in Inis Mor, one of the Aran Islands.

Ahead of the event Red Bull posted a video of cliff diver Orlando Duque jumping from a helicopter and soaring before the facade of an Irish castle.

This is the first Cliff Diving World Series and Inis Mor, Ireland is the fourth and final stop on the circuit. Previously the tour has taken divers to Wadi Shab, Oman; Boston, Massachusetts; and Wales.

According to the Red Bull Cliff Diving site, the divers will be jumping from 28 meters (about 90 feet).

There are eleven divers participating in the competition. Scoring is based on the technicality of the dive. To learn about scoring, check out the rules here.
